This blog is to log my training in preparation for the Ronde van Vlaanderen Sportive on the 31st of March 2012, which is around 6 months away. And also to chronicle my training beyond that. I have two measurable start points and short term (~6 months) goals, which are:
Starting Weight: 78 kg
Starting FTP: 260W
Target Weight Loss: 5 - 6 kg in 6 months
Target FTP Gain: 10 - 15W in 6 months
These are the two metrics that are most important in my progression as a cyclist. Everyone knows it's a W/kg game. The aim is to make the watts go up, and the kg's go down. The targets are achievable in my opinion. 1 kg a month is feasible, and 10 - 15 watts over 6 months is definitely not unheard of. The challenge is to be consistent and disciplined in my application over these next 6 months.
Here's to me achieving these goals.
